The fourth event was in 2012 marked its own record when it succeeded to get 36 teams from 25 Higher Education Instituitions(HEI) as well as nationwide HEI such as Taylor’s University College, Politeknik Mukah Sarawak, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and other HEI.

This May 2015, will witness the upcoming fifth tournament which is rebrand to FV Malaysia to promote Malaysia Engineering Student Capabilities to the global and to commercial our Malaysia’s Engineers that been produced through HEI in throughout the nation. This times the committee of FV Malaysia 2015 expecting participations from 50 teams for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) categories and 30 teams for Electric Vehicle Categories. This makes FV Malaysia as one of the scholarly tournaments that gets very favourable response from many HEI.

The concept of this programme originates from the  Formula SAE tournament in the United States of America and Canada. Even though the vehicles developed are of mini size, they are considered as “mini F1” at PHEI level. The tournament challenges engineering students to design, build and race with formula style race machines. This competition gives opportunities to teams from participating institutions to show and prove their engineering expertise over other teams. As for automotive companies, this event is an efficient platform for them to identify and subsequently to recruit graduates to join them later.
